Completing one character's Main Story will unlock the other character's Second Run - an alternate telling of what that character was doing during the other's Main Story. Both Leon and Claire have their own Main Story, which tells a similar tale with few key differences. Without a doubt, Resident Evil 2 is one of the bloodiest and most brutal games of today, which you will be able to see after only 10 minutes of playing.
